FUN, LEARNING FOR GIRL SCOUTS AT FAIR OAKS FARMS
Fair Oaks Farms welcomes the Girl Scouts for the month of February for National Girl Scout Week. Scouts from all over Central Indiana flocked to Fair Oaks Farms to learn about agriculture and to have some fun on the farm. The scouts were each given a Passport to Education pass that they carried with them during their farm visit. The pass had several questions the scouts must answer in order to receive their official Fair Oaks Farms path for their uniforms.
The pink patch features an ice cream cone and the words “Strong Bones, Strong Girls, Fair Oaks Farms” embroidered into the award. Approximately 125 scouts and their families came to the farm for their special day and we look forward to seeing the scouts again next year!

FAIR OAKS FARMS UPDATE FOR FEB. 3, 2011
Fair Oaks Farms is digging out from a blanket of snow that shut down the public operations of the farm on Feb. 2, 2011. The Fair Oaks Farms tour buses were shut down and the adventure center was closed due to weather conditions. The day after was packed with snow removal and clean up of the grounds so visitors to the farm would have safe passage when moving from one building to another. We offer a sneak peek at the clean up and behind-the-scenes look at Fair Oaks Farms employees as they get the farm ready for visitors.

SNOW DOESN’T STOP FARMERS
As the recent snow showers kept thousands at home, work continued as usual at Fair Oaks Farms. The hard working dairy farmers treated the snow day like any other day. The dairy herds were fed, pens cleaned, manure was turned into energy for the farm and the public could come and witness the whole thing on the farms’ numerous tours. We salute the American farmer who never gets a snow day home from work.

COLTS KIDS CLUB + FAIR OAKS FARMS = THE PLACE TO BE!
Fair Oaks Farms participated in the Colts Kids Club Extravaganza which was the final event of the season for the Indianapolis Colts. An estimated 4,000 kids and their parents showed up to the event to participate in football drills and play on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Fair Oaks Farms had the honor of being one of the vendors at the extravaganza. We passed out so many mini footballs we lost count and we made a bunch of new friends along the way. Enjoy this peek into a really cool event for the kids.

FAIR OAKS FARMS COWS — EXTREME MAKEOVER EDITION
Each December, Fair Oaks Farms closes the doors to the adventure center for annual maintenance and the public is not allowed in during that period — until now! The cheese factory is still open for Fair Oaks Farms famous grilled cheeses and other menu items — but a few steps away the adventure center is getting a complete overhaul.
The cows are painted, exhibits are repaired, grass is replanted, floors are shined and the windows are cleaned. Now, you have a chance to take a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on when the doors are locked. The cows get repaired by a very able artist, Brad Sickmeyer of Scenic Creations. So take a look at Fair Oaks Farms as you have never seen it before — when the cows get a makeover.

KIDS DAY AT LUCAS OIL STADIUM
Fair Oaks Farms was on hand for the Dec. 5, 2010 Indianapolis Colts game against the Dallas Cowboys. The Colts Kids Club Members were invited onto the field after the game to have some fun playing football and performing training camp drills. Fair Oaks Farms held a “Call Plays Like Peyton Manning” contest for various prizes and trips to Fair Oaks Farms. Kids and their families had fun tossing the football around and just being on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Fair Oaks Farms is a proud supporter of Colts football and we are the official milk of the Indianapolis Colts and kids having fun.
